About Margin Notes Lite
Margin Notes Lite is a free one-page portfolio for an independent designer, illustrator or small studio. It is a calm, type-led page with a few projects, a short bio and a way to get in touch. It is the cut-down version of the paid Margin Notes template.
What's on the page
- Hero: your name in large type, one line about what you do, and two buttons (Start a project, See the work)
- Selected work: 4 project cards, each with a photo, a title and a one-line summary
- About: a short bio next to a list (Based in, Focus, Clients, Working on)
- Contact: email, studio address and reply time next to a form with name, email, company, a "What do you need?" select, a budget select and a message field
- Footer with social links; desktop, tablet and phone layouts; a 404 page

The full Margin Notes ($49) adds a CMS for case studies, project galleries, services, testimonials and more.
Good to know
- This is one page with no CMS. The work cards are plain layers: edit each one by hand, and add or remove cards yourself.
- The work cards don't link to project pages, because Lite has none.
- The person, clients and projects are made up. Photos are from Unsplash.
