About Sidequest
Sidequest is a portfolio that visitors walk through. As they scroll, your character walks through five chapters, Hello, Skills, Work, Projects and Contact, while the day turns into night.
The walk
- Hello: your name drops in letter by letter next to a little house with a smoking chimney.
- Skills: each skill is a flag that climbs its pole to your level (1–5).
- Work: up to four jobs grow out of the ground as buildings with years, role, company and a note.
- Projects: up to four projects float in on hot-air balloons; each card can link out.
- Contact: the road ends at a campfire under the northern lights, with a copy-email button and your links.
Details
- The character walks in step with the scroll, turns around when you scroll back and hops over rocks.
- Parallax mountains and forest, sun and moon, stars, birds, wind turbines, fireflies and a shooting star.
- Chapter bar to jump to any chapter, and a Plain résumé button.
- All text, skills, jobs, projects, links and the character's colours are edited in the properties panel.
- Your fonts, a scroll-length setting, and a Canvas Scene slider to preview any moment while you edit.

Good to know
- The walk is one code component. It plays on the published site; on the canvas you see a still frame set by Canvas Scene.
- The résumé page is made of normal layers and is edited separately.
- Looping animations pause off-screen and switch off for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
